District admin launches crackdown on commercial outlets in Uni Town

The district administration on Saturday launched a grand operation against the hundred illegal commercial offices, outlets and private schools operating in the residential area of University Town.
A statement issued by the office of Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Mehsud said the action was taken after the timeline given by Peshawar High Court expired.
The operation was carried out which was supervised by Assistant Commissioner Syeda Zainab Naqvi.
On this occasion she was accompanied by DSP Mukhtiar Khan of Town Police Station, SHO Ibrahim Khan and a heavy contingent of police, WAPDA ‘Sui Gas’ WSSP’ Capital Metropolitan government.
The district administration sealed C&W Office, Medical Purchasing Office, WAPDA FATA Office, Medical Projing Store, Afaq publishers, Cafe Crunch, Shahbaz Hotel & Canteen, Dua Property, Dr Muzaffar Clinic, the Kitchen, JKD, Roots Schools, and electricity and gas connections were cut off.
Assistant Commissioner Syeda Zainab Naqvi said that action has been taken on the order of the High Court and until the court order comes, no commercial activities will be allowed in University Town. Operation against commercial activities would be continued on a daily basis, she added.
