Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Saturday, directed all concerned authorities to ensure coordinated and timely action for the effective implementation of development projects and to maintain momentum in the Government’s broader agenda of economic development and improved connectivity.
The DPM/FM chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Finance and Revenue, Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretaries of the Cabinet Division and Planning Ministry, representatives of the EAD and provincial governments, and senior federal and provincial officials, the DPM Office said in a press release.
The meeting considered a comprehensive agenda of development projects, including the construction of the Khawazakhela–Besham Expressway; electricity distribution efficiency improvement projects in LESCO, HESCO and PESCO; the Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower Project; the Southern Punjab Poverty Alleviation Project; the Fulbright Scholarship Support Programme; and various water, connectivity and infrastructure projects.
The committee also considered revised PC-Is and reviewed progress/compliance relating to ongoing development projects, with a view to ensuring their timely implementation and the efficient utilization of development resources.
