Dr Nasir Ahmed successfully defended PhD thesis in Pharmacology

Dr. Nasir Ahmad completed his PhD in Pharmacology (Pharmacogenomics) from the Department of Pharmacology, Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar. Public Defense of the PhD thesis was conducted in the Multipurpose Hall of KMU.
The vice chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Zia Ul Haq attended the event as chief guest. Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Gandapur, dean basic medical sciences Prof. Dr. Jawad Ahmad, faculty, and a large number of MPhil & PhD scholars were also present at the occasion.
Dr. Nasir Ahmad completed his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Yasar Mehmood Yousafzai, (Tamgha Imtiaz) Associate Professor of Hematology and Director of Public Health Reference Lab (PHRL). The project was co-supervised by Dr. Sami Siraj (Director KMU Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences) and Professor Dr. Abid Jameel (HoD Medical Oncology, HMC). Dr. Nasir Ahmad studied the effect of Genetic Mutations on response to treatment in Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia, a deadly type of blood cancer.
The project was completed in collaboration with the Department of Medical Oncology, Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar.
Dr. Yasar M Yousafzai and vice chancellor KMU appreciated the research work conducted by the scholar and praised his efforts in the establishment of PHRL at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Nasir Ahmad dedicated his achievement to his parents, teachers, and colleagues and thanked them all.
