Dr Shafqat chairs key meeting on promoting digital economy

PESHAWAR: An important meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board was convened under the chairmanship of Dr Shafqat Ayaz, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Science and Information Technology. According to an official handout, the was attended by Managing Director (MD) of the KP IT Board, Akif Khan, and other key members, focused on strategies to enhance the digital economy in the province. During the discussions, several proposals were considered to provide easy, secure, and modern financial facilities to the people, with a strong emphasis on increasing financial inclusion. Dr Shafqat Ayaz, in his address, reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to development through technology, highlighting the importance of modern sectors such as FinTech in driving economic progress. Under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the current government was dedicated to leveraging technology to usher in a new era of development in the province. The CM aide stressed that promoting digital solutions was vital for fostering sustainable growth and improving the financial well-being of the people. The meeting was seen as a crucial step towards the advancement of KP’s digital infrastructure, aimed at positioning the province as a hub for technological innovation and economic empowerment.
