ISLAMABAD: Election Commission (EC) has directed members of parliament to file the details of assets till December 31. EC has directed Members of Parliament and Provincial assemblies (MPAs) to file declaration of assets and outstanding dues in respect of themselves, their wives and dependents till December 31, 2026. According to EC it is binding on all members of parliament to file details of assets, liabilities and outstanding dues in respect of themselves, their wives and dependents on the prescribed form B. Legal proceedings will be initiated against those who fail to file the statement of assets under section 137 of Election Act-2017. The name of members of parliament who fail to file details of assets will be released at public level on January 01. The membership of parliament will be suspended in respect of those who fail to file declaration of assets till January 15. ONLINE
