ISLAMABAD
Election Commission (EC) has extended the date for filing nomination papers for two days .
Date has been extended on the pleas of political parties.
Political parties including MQM, JUI-F, PML-N and Balochistan Awami party had requested the EC to extend the date for filing nomination papers without changing the date for polls.
The EC while accepting the plea of political parties extended the date for filing nomination papers for two days.
EC has said the candidates now can file the nomination papers till December 24. Political parties can file preferential list of reserved seats till December 24.
The scrutiny of papers will be conducted from December 25 to 30.
EC had earlier fixed the date from December 20 to 22 for filing and receiving nomination papers.
The political parties while raising objection over it had demanded of EC to extend the date for filing nomination papers.
