Violating election code of conduct
ISLAMABAD
Election Commission (EC) has issued notices to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, Chief Minister (CM) KP and federal ministers for violating election code of conduct.
PM Imran Khan, chief minister KP Mehmood Khan, federal ministers Murad Saeed, Ali Zaidi, senator Faisal Javed, Junaid Akbar MNA, Shakil Khan MPA and Pir Musawwar had addressed a public meeting in Malakand a day before.
Ban was imposed on the ministers to address public gatherings in the wake of second phase of local bodies polls in KP. But they not only attended the public meeting but also addressed it despite notice. Upon it EC has issued notices to PM, Chief minister KP, Federal ministers and members of assembly.
As per notice all have been summoned in the office of district monitoring officer Malakand on March 22. The EC has directed them to explain their position in person or through their counsel.
