ECP launches internship programme for fresh graduates in KP

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday launched a two-month internship programme for fresh university graduates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aimed at providing practical training in the country’s electoral and administrative processes.
Provincial Election Commissioner Saeed Gul inaugurated the programme in Peshawar and welcomed the participants, briefing them on the constitutional role, functions and responsibilities of the ECP and the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner.
He urged the interns to perform their assigned responsibilities with dedication and commitment so they could gain practical experience during the programme.
Joint Provincial Election Commissioner (Elections) Muhammad Farid Afridi, Joint Provincial Election Commissioner (Administration) Shahid Iqbal, Director (Elections) Muhammad Nadeem Khan and other officials attended the inaugural ceremony.
Earlier, Director (Elections) Muhammad Nadeem Khan outlined the objectives of the internship programme, saying the participants would receive hands-on experience in the electoral process, the commission’s administrative affairs and other key responsibilities by working in different sections of the office.
Deputy Director (Training) Zaheer Ahmed Sahitho later delivered a presentation on the constitutional mandate, responsibilities and functions of the Election Commission.
The participants thanked the ECP for providing them with an opportunity to gain practical experience in a constitutional institution.
