PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of the violation of the code of conduct of by-election on NA-22 Mardan by the Provincial Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, Atif Khan and has issued notice to him, said a press release issued here on Wednesday. APP
The District Monitoring Officer (DMO) has summoned him on September 2, 2022 at 11:00 A.M to appear before him in his office at 11:00 A.M to clarify his position by himself or through a lawyer.
The notice has been taken on news circulated on social media and a complaint lodged by a citizen Hafiz Farmanullah. The provincial minister had participated in a gathering held in Elite Wedding Hall on August 28, 2022, which is tantamount to violation of the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan on August 5, 2022.
