Education Monitoring Authority performance reviewed

An important meeting held here on Wednesday with the provincial education minister Shahram Khan Tarakai in the chair, reviewed overall performance of Education Monitoring Authority.
The forum was briefed about the annual performance of the authority. Provincial minister was informed by the officials that so far 53000 teachers have been awarded punishment for their negligence.
The officials of the Education Monitoring Authority apprised the forum that in the education sector a number of recommendations have been implemented in line of government policy in public sector schools of the province.
Shahram Khan on this occasion issued instructions to officials of concerned authority to perform their designated duties and keep themselves aloof from extra duties in the education sector. The meeting was also informed that during the ongoing year, the authority has collected around Rs70.3 million after imposing various fines on government teachers.
Moreover, the authority during the monitoring process has issued show-cause notices to more than 998 government schools and recommended to its parent department for halting increments of 3400 schoolteachers for violations code of conduct, it informed.
KP’s education minister clarified on the occasion that the Education Monitoring Authority will be used only for educational purposes instead of additional duties in the sector.
