LANDIKOTAL
Community leaders, local government representatives and students from Bazaar Zekhakhel, the remote region of Landikotal, voiced their frustration over the ongoing neglect of educational facilities and unavailability of other basic needs.
Councilor Musim Gul Afridi, Chairman Fateh Gul Afridi, and Haji Ashraf Afridi highlighted the severe educational deficiencies in their area.
They said that despite the upgradation of Sher Rehman Khel Primary School and Middle School in 2013, the schools have yet to receive staff, leaving the community in dire straits.
They noted that students are unable to advance beyond the fourth grade due to the distance to the nearest facilities in Kermina and Barg, resulting in nearly 500 students being idle at home.
The leaders criticized the government’s inaction and vowed to reject polio vaccination as a protest against the neglect.
They emphasized that their repeated appeals to authorities in Peshawar and Islamabad have been ignored, describing the failure to provide education as a deliberate conspiracy. They warned that if the issue remains unresolved, the risk of students turning to negative activities increases, and called for immediate action to address the educational crisis.
