MARDAN: Prominent Khudai Khadmatgar, religious scholar, poet and educationist, Israr Da Toru passed away after protracted illness here on Tuesday. He was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard Toru here on Tuesday. Former chief minister Amir Haidar Hoti, AWKU former vice chancellor Dr.Ihsan Ali Khan, , Mayor Mardan Himaytullah Mayar, ANP district office bearers and workers, poets including Dr Humayun Huma, Noor-ul-Bashar Naveed, Dr Zubair Hasrat and other poets and writers and journalist attended the funeral prayer. His whole family has an educational background and especially in religious matters. His father Maulana Inayatullah was a well-known religious scholar based in Khaksar Manzal Mardan. His father was affiliated with Khudai Khadmatgar movement started by Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan known as Bacha Khan.
Later on, Israr ur Rahman was also affiliated with Khudai Khadmatgar movement. Israr Da Toru also offered Namaz-e-Janaza of nationalist leader Muhammad Azam Khan Hoti due to his affiliation with the party. Israr Da Toru got a master degree in Urdu language and also in education.
He was a retired Principal and has produced some well-known students of Mardan. His style of teaching has been excellent and he was one of the most popular teachers amongst the students. Israr Da Toru life has two sides Pukhtoon Nationalist and Islamic religious values. He wrote many books which are published. His first book was, Imam-e- Azam in 1965.
He studied the Quran and has published a book in which he explained the total numbers of ayahs in the Quran. He suffered from heart disease for a long time and passed away on Tuesday. His qul will be held on Thursday at Toru.
Meanwhile, a condolence meeting of Mardan press club was held under the chairmanship of President Muhammad Riaz Mayar. The meeting was attended by General Secretary Pervez Khan, joint secretary Amir Abassi, finance secretary Parveez Shaheen and others.The meeting termed Israr Da Toru death a great loss to the Pakhtun nation and paid rich tribute to his services. Prayers were offered for the deceased’s forgiveness, elevation of ranks, and patience for the family.
