Electricity tariff is likely to be reduced by paisas 30 per unit under the head of Monthly Fuel Adjustment.
CPPA filed application in connection with monthly fuel adjustment for the month of February.
NEPA will hear the petition today.
According to application 6495000000 units electricity was produced while 6666000000 units electricity was provided to electricity companies. Per unit production cost of electricity was Rs 8.22 while reference cost of electricity per unit was Rs 8.52 for the month of February.
27.12 percent electricity was generated from hydro sources, 15.02 percent from local coal, 1.56 percent from imported coal and 10.32 percent from gas.
14.11 percent electricity was generated from imported LNG in the month of February.
