Islamabad: An embezzlement of billions of rupees has been unearthed in Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab (ECSP), established during the tenure of Shahbaz Sharif.The inner sources stared that former Chief Minister Punjab Main Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had appointed an aged person of MD ECSP, who has ruined the company.
Despite the availability of dozens of experts and engineers, ECSP outsource the work to other private companies and gave them an amount of Rs. 340 million.
Another over aged person Jahangir Akhtar was given the charge of head of Geo Technical Engineering Division, who unable to deliver.An amount of Rs 8.5m was also wasted on renovation of a rented building, and another Rs110m was given to the owner of the building through illegal ways, the rent of the building was fixed 7 lac and 51 thousand which was very high as compared to the market.
Managing Director (MD) of the company, Karamatullah without the approval of board of directors achieved three, lac monthly, also looted billions in the name of Turkish Company’s residence, and monthly looted Rs. 4 lekh and 80 thousands from national exchequer.NAB has also accused Shahbaz of directing the PLDC to award the consultancy services of the Ashiana-i-Iqbal project to Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab (ECSP) for Rs192 million while the actual cost was supposed to be Rs35 million as quoted by Nespak.
Sources stated that Rs. 890 million had been withdrawn from the company funds in the capacity of salaries of company bogus employees. High level investigation of this dishonest was also going on. Engineering Consultancy Services Punjab had been established during the tenure of former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. The officers of this organization were Karmat Ch, Dr. Shahzad Rehman, Ahmed Raza Shah, Javid Akthar and others.
