Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Advisor on Information and Public Relations Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif on Monday visited the Zamong Kor Model Institute for State Children Abbottabad Campus in Havelian, where he was briefed on the institution’s academic, technical, and skill development programs, said a handout.
Assistant Director Muhammad Adnan Murad gave a comprehensive presentation on the wide range of services provided at the institute. Saif interacted with the children, asked them various questions, and appreciated their knowledge, confidence, and capabilities. According to the statement, the Abbottabad Campus is providing quality education, vocational training, sports facilities, and skill development to 98 underprivileged children.
The Zamong Kor initiative was originally launched in Peshawar in 2016 under the vision of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. Over 600 girls are currently enrolled at the Peshawar campus.
Following its success, the KP government expanded the initiative through the Annual Development Program (ADP), establishing additional campuses in Dera Ismail Khan, Peshawar, Swat, and a Girls Campus in Hayatabad. These campuses offer a holistic care model, including education, vocational and computer training, psychological support, accommodation, and meals — all provided free of charge.
Dr. Saif commended the government’s efforts and said, “Such steps are a significant move toward empowering the deprived sections of society and providing them with a bright future.”
He was the chief guest at the Pakistan Defense Day and Seerat-un-Nabi Conference celebrations held at the Abbottabad Campus, where he addressed the students and staff. Highlighting the importance of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings, Dr. Saif described his life as a “beacon of light and a perfect example for all descendants of Noah.”
Speaking on the country’s strength, he said, “Pakistan is strong in terms of defense, and our youth can make it even stronger by dedicating their talents to education.”
Dr. Saif appreciated the performances by the children, including Naat recitation, Quranic verses, and speeches presented during the event. He also assured the staff that he would raise their concerns at the relevant forums.
