PESHAWAR: In line with the Provincial Government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has intensified its crackdown on drug dealers, traffickers, and facilitators across the province. Under the supervision of Provincial In-charge Saud Khan Gandapur, the Excise Intelligence Bureau carried out five major operations in a single day, resulting in the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and the arrest of six suspects, all of whom have been formally charged under relevant laws. In the first operation, officials seized 6 kilograms of heroin and 3 kilograms of ice. The second operation led to the recovery of 19.2 kilograms of hashish and 500 grams of ice, while the third saw 4.8 kilograms of hashish confiscated. The fourth action resulted in the seizure of 500 grams of ice. In a notable fifth operation, two individuals supplying and selling ice to students in the Hazara region were arrested, and 1 kilogram of ice was recovered from them. In total, the day-long operations resulted in the seizure of 6 kilograms of heroin, 5 kilograms of ice, and 24 kilograms of hashish, highlighting the department’s continued commitment to tackling the spread of narcotics in the province.
