PESHAWAR: Police in Bannu district on Monday foiled a major terrorist plot after recovering a motorcycle loaded with explosives outside Mandan Gate. According to police, unidentified suspects were allegedly attempting to take the explosives-laden motorcycle into Bannu city. However, the motorcycle’s tire burst outside Mandan Gate, prompting the suspects to abandon the vehicle and flee. Police and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) immediately reached the scene after receiving information. The motorcycle was examined and explosives were recovered. The bomb disposal team subsequently defused the material. Police said the timely action prevented a possible terrorist attack and saved the area from potentially significant damage. The motorcycle has been taken into police custody and shifted to the relevant police station. A search operation has been launched, while investigation into the incident is underway. APP
