Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah said the government should give a clear roadmap for economic revival, trade and investment promotion, peace, prosperity and development of the country.
Talking to a group of reporters here on Sunday, Shah said democracy and political stability was vital for economic prosperity and progress.
He asked the government to cooperate with friendly countries for framing policy on trade and investment.
He assured his party will extend every support to investment attraction initiatives.
Despite the agreement with the IMF, he said the Pakistani rupee is continuously depreciating which was testimony of the incumbent government ‘flawed’ economic policies.
Traders, salaried, working class, labour and daily wagers are highly disturbed owing to imposition of heavy taxes and rising price-hike, Shah remarked.
The ATP chairman said rulers failed to bring the ailing economy on the right track and resolving the public issues.
He asked to bring fairness in trade and privatization.
Decisions should be made on merit and favoritism and bestowing blued-eyed must be removed, he stressed.
He said democracy should flourish.
Shah said electoral reforms should be finalized with due consent of all stakeholders to ensure transparent, fair and impartial general elections.
He said the rulers and politicians joined heads for sake of gaining power and least bothered to pay attention to increasing public issues and address them on priority basis.
Commenting on the apex court decisions, Faiq said it is the responsibility of government and opposition to respect, abide and implement decisions of the Supreme Court.
He said the discrediting institutions will pose threats of anarchy in the country. He said organs of law and constitution shouldn’t be suspended which was not beneficial for anyone.
ATP wants to strengthen the institutions in order to ensure respect of laws and its implementation in all federating units, society and politics, Shah remarked.
He said that attitude toward matters relating to superior court and constitutions adopted, which is highly unfortunate and deplorable.
He added that every person wanted the courts to give verdicts in his favour, which is impossible.
