Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has condemned the recent abhorrent act of desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and urged the world organisations to take serious notice and action against the growing Islamophobic incidents.
Faiq while reacting to reportedly desecration of holy Quraan in Sweden in a statement issued here on Monday said the incident has hurt religious sentiments of 1.5billion muslims across the world.
“It’s isn’t call freedom expression to hurt sentiments of people belongs to any other religion”,
The importance of continued and robust inter-religious, inter-civilisational and inter-faith dialogue as a catalyst to promote peaceful co-existence, mutual understanding, and harmony, the ATP chief stressed.
Faiq strongly condemned the rising attacks on security personnels in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the country.
He said resurgence of terrorists and criminals activities would jeopardize the ongoing peace building efforts and initiatives.
The party chief emphasized that peace is vital for economic prosperity, flourishing of business, trade and industries and social-economic uplift. He asked the incumbent government to revisit the National Action Plan (NAP) and modify it with consultation with provinces and stakeholders to ensure maintaining law and order throughout the country.
Shah also suggested holding meetings of apex committees on a monthly basis to review the overall security situation and realign it with growing challenges to law enforcement agencies.
Commenting on selecting caretaker chief minister Punjab, the ATP chairman expressed hope that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would nominate such a person, which could be acceptable to all parties and stakeholders.
Faiq while talking about the persistent deadlock between political rivals on Karachi’s mayorship, asking that PPP, JI and PTI to build up a consensus and resolve the issue at earliest and to begin joint initiatives for provision of facilities and welfare, betterment of people in Karachi at their doorstep.
Shah voiced serious concern over the confession of the deposed prime minister Imran Khan about investing funds of cancer hospital funds on real estate and demanded to conduct a forensic audit of the entire funding and report should be made public.
He also asked the election commission of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct a thorough probe into the hidden assets and money of all parliamentarians and those who misused public money should be disqualified for lifetime.
About the possible conduct of by-elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shah asked the people to reject the opportunists and old manifestos, parties through power of vote.
He also revealed that ATP will field its candidates in all constituencies in Punjab and KP and invited applications from competent people and youth for the by-polls.
