PESHAWAR
Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah expressed grave concern over hours-long electricity and gas loadshedding in the country.
Despite payment of utilities bills with heavy tariffs, electricity and gas is unavailable to the consumers, Shah said while chairing a meeting of the party’s central leaders and office bearers here on Friday.
He said the prolonged power outages made the lives of people miserable.
On the other hand, he said industry and businesses activities have been slowed down owing to ‘hours-long’ electricity and gas loadshedding.
Similarly, he said the water table is also receding rapidly which would cause clean drinking water scarcity.
Therefore, he stressed the need to build up water reservoirs and small dams to meet with the increasing energy and water needs.
Faiq noted people have been deprived of all basic amenities.
He said all fundamental rights of people have been usurped and no one talked about the miseries of the poor masses.
Everyone is waiting for their own ‘Turn’ to usurp the public’s rights, he added.
The ATP chairman continued to say that stagnation prevails everywhere in the country.
He said rulers have brought the national economy on verge of collapse.
He observed no one is ready to frame a joint roadmap to steer the country out from the prevailing crisis.
Shah while expressing grave concern over deteriorating security situation, saying that crime incidents have surged up, which is testimony of poor performance of police and law enforcement agencies.
The party leader emphasized timely election is the only solution to all issues.
Any delay in holding an election is not in the best interest of the country, he added.
Shah urged all political parties to set together and jointly frame a mechanism to pave the way for elections in the country.
The ATP chairman criticized that the incumbent coalition government has not left any stone unturned to elevate miseries of the poor masses.
