Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah condemned the cowardly terrorist attack in Shirani, Balochistan.
Shah in a statement on Tuesday complimented the security forces for maintaining the law and order situation in the country.
“Condolences to their bereaved families and prayers for the departed souls.”
He said peace was restored owing to unmatched sacrifices of security forces.
Talking about the prevailing political scenario during a meeting of the party’s executive committee, he said timely elections are imperative for bringing political and economic stability in the country.
He called for bringing electoral reforms before conduct of the next general elections in order to block the way of horse-trading, rigging and use of pressure tactics in elections.
Faiq continued to say those reaching the lower house of the parliament on the basis of wealth would be easy prey for the enemies of the state, and the sanctity of the constitutional institutions would be destroyed beyond recovery.
He emphasized political parties should be consulted to ensure holding of general elections in an transparent, impartial and fair manner.
He also asked to provide a level playing field for all political forces and a congenial atmosphere in the elections.
The party chief called upon all political parties to devise jointly a roadmap to pave the way for holding transparent polls.
He also urged the Election Commission of Pakistan to take all measures to ensure fair elections to not raise the ‘hue and cry’ of corruption, rigging and use of wealth.
Shah was of the view that the country cannot be decided by holding meetings in London and Dubai.
He said people cannot be deceived anymore with hollow slogans.
The ATP chairman asked the people to reject corrupt and opportunists’ candidates through the power of their ballot and elect patriotic and honest people to help rebuild the nation.
He demanded permanent blacklisting of those against whom proofs of selling out conscience were found.
