Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah has demanded to devise a comprehensive strategy for ‘Made in Pakistan policy’.
Chairing a meeting here at the party’s central secretariat on Monday, Faiq noticed Pakistan has trapped under international monetary institutions owing administrative incompetence, interest-based and wrong policies.
“We will be ‘self-sufficient’ and ‘self-reliant’ today, if the country’s yield, industries and exports were focused,”
Therefore, he suggested the policy of ‘Made in Pakistan’ would rescue the country from the prevailing economic crisis situation and make it self-sufficient and autonomous.
He termed the diplomacy for investment, production and industrialization can pull the country out from the present difficult economic equation and remove the uncertain situation.
Shah emphasized that new industries should be exempted from tax on exports.
He called for enhancement of bilateral trade with Muslim countries in order to space up national economic growth and boost up economy on sound footing.
“80 per cent reduction has come in export of cement along with other exports, which needed to be taken serious notice of it”
He demanded a comprehensive strategy should be designed for ‘Made in Pakistan policy’.
Capabilities, natural reserves, resources and means are rapidly wasting in the country, while extravagance of the rulers are endless, Shah observed.
He viewed the assistance gained from the IMF for the sake of personal politics.
Faiq noted the present coalition government is looking toward an IMF bailout package.
Now, he has disclosed attempts to present a supplementary budget on conditions of the IMF.
Fresh tough measures, like new taxation, levies and further inflation would prove detrimental for the country, Shah warned.
The ATP chairman observed that the burden on all national institutions was increasing.
He suggested the policy of ‘Made in Pakistan’ would rescue the country from the prevailing economic crisis situation and make it self-sufficient, self-reliant and autonomous.
