Farewell ceremony held for outgoing CJCSC at Joint Staff Headquarters

Joint Staff Headquarters hosted a special ceremony today to bid farewell to General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), the outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, as he concluded 40 years of distinguished military service.
The ceremony was attended by former CJCSCs and senior military officers from the tri-services.
In his address, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for granting him the strength to fulfil his responsibilities with dedication, professionalism and selfless devotion. He paid glowing tributes to the Armed Forces for their unwavering sacrifices in defence of the motherland and also honoured the shuhada and their families.
Highlighting the prevailing geo-strategic environment, he underscored that a strong national defence remains a vital pillar of national security. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s defence is impregnable and that the valiant officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces stand ever-ready to further strengthen it.
Earlier, upon arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented the outgoing CJCSC with a Guard of Honour.
