It is to be mentioned here that three years back on 08 March, the Supreme Court of Pakistan decided formation of a larger bench to hear the case ,lodged in the court against merging.
Under the banner of FATA Loya Jirga, a rally was organized that was attended by a large number of tribal elders and anti-merging tribesmen.
The participants while carrying black flags and banners inscribed with slogans against merging of former region agencies into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP).

They jirga members expressed their regret over the delay tactics of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and said that six years back they had filed a case against merging in the Court but in the last three years, a large bench had not been formulated that was injustice to them.
Since the first day, the tribal rejected merging and will not accept it till its abolishment, they remarked.
They maintained that in merging the tribal had been suffering a lot and besides their maximum representation ended in parliament, a quota system in jobs for the tribal youth also finished that deprived them of their right.
Presently the law and order situation was going from bad to worse in the former tribal region, they added and said with the introduction of potwar and police system disputes among the locals had increased many fold.
They demanded of the government to revise the merging of the ex-tribal agencies, abolish the police and patwar system and restore their tradition and rites as prevailed in earlier.
The jirga also demanded release of Malik Naseer Ahmad and other detainees.
They marched from Takhta Baig to Bab-e-Khyber where it ended peacefully.
