Federal Minister for Information and broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said Sunday that question raised by his fellow Minister Farogh Naseem regarding accountability process in judiciary was important.
“Farogh Naseem has raised a valid question that if judges of higher judiciary were not responsible for their families’ assets then how come the accountability of politicians and bureaucrats would be possible” Fawad wrote in a twitter message on Sunday, referring to Supreme Court of Pakistan’s latest ruling in case of its judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The Supreme Court, in its detailed judgment published on Saturday had ruled that jurisdiction of Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) was only applicable on the judges of the apex court, and not on their families.
“Judiciary needs and introspection on immediate basis after its falling rankings in international rankings” Fawad Chaudhry wrote in his tweet on Sunday.
He further said that new Chief Justice, who will swear in coming days would face the challenge of “judiciary’s downfallen integrity”.
