Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary has congratulated newly elected President of Multan Press Club (MPC) Shakeel Anjum and other office bearers.
In his message, the minister said he hoped that newly elected leadership of Multan Press Club would play its role for the welfare of Journalists.
He said that Multan Press Club (MPC) journalists use pen and mic to keep the whole Pakistan and the world abreast of the important news of South Punjab, especially in the field of agriculture.
Fawad said the present government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) firmly believes in upholding the freedom of expression, besides persistently playing role in ensuring freedom of press and welfare of journalist community.
The minister said the present government had passed the Journalist Protection Bill in the Assembly for the protection of Journalists.
He said under the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Apna Ghar Scheme, journalists are being provided housing loans on easy installments.
Fawad said Health cards have been issued to journalists in Lahore Press Club and in the next few days’ heath cards will also be provided to the members of other press clubs.
