Peshawar(PR):KP Finance Minister Muzaffar Said Advocate has advised the federal govt to announce a generous development package for Malakand Division that he said would also better its govt and party position over there.
He made clear that visits of the PM and federal ministers during natural calamities had no impact and we formally invite them for such visits as backwardness of Malakand has been clearly felt during protest against Customs Act and its withdrawal forthwith.
He made this demand while talking to representative delegation of minorities from Malakand Division which called on him under the leadership of the District Councilor from Dir Lower Shehzad Kokhar Masih and Tehsil Councilor Balambat Waqar Majeed.
The delegation apprised him in detail of problems faced by minority communities in the province as well as Malakand special packages of federal and provincial govts and jobs quota for minorities.
The finance minister while assuring the resolutio of their problems on priority basis said that his coalition govt was already pursuing development package for Malakand in all sectors including health, education, water supply, irrigation and communication. He said inaugurating work on Swat Expressway was fresh example of our sincerity.
He said minorities are important organ of our society. He said the role of minorities in national development is unforgettable. He said besides, welfare of minorities, the protection of their all rights is our constitutional, religious and national responsibility and said that the government will leave no stone unturned in the fulfillment of this prime responsibility in better manner.
He said that after coming into power his govt first increased minorities’ job quota from 1 per cent to 1.5 per cent and now it has been again increased to 3 per cent. Similarly, he said besides, the appointing of minority welfare officer at every district level, Deputy Commissioners headed district minorities’ committees have also been constituted to resolve the problems of minorities through their representatives.
Similarly, he said that the implementation of the comprehensive recommendations presented by the working group for minorities is also being ensured. He assured that for the construction and repairing of the worship places of minorities, his government will utilize all the available resources. He said the provincial government is introducing a system to guarantee protection to the life and properties of all people including minorities and protection of worship places, provision of equal rights to minorities and resolve their problems in an automated manner and they should not feel need for approaching anyone for the purpose.
The minister said his govt is taking effective measures to provide maximum employment opportunities to all educated and capable youth in different sectors. The delegation thanked him for taking keen interest in the welfare of minorities and resolution of their problems. They on behalf of the minorities assured full cooperation to provincial government in successful implementation of developmental policies.
