Five owners of restaurants were apprehended due to unhygienic conditions in their business places at Hospital Chawk, Landi Kotal Bazaar on Wednesday, an administrative official informed.
They said that Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC) Landi Kotal Shahabuddin accompanied by other officials, raided various restaurants at the Square and examined its kitchen and selling sites.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the unhygienic condition of the restaurants and lack of proper cleanness system in it.
He on the spot ordered for the arrest of five owners of the food places in violation of law and put them behind the bars for further legal process.
Speaking on the occasion AAC Shahabuddin said that in the strict direction of their highup, strict action would be taken against those who were playing with the health of the people.
The administration is there to look after its people and to ensure the clean and healthy food is served to the people of the Landi Kotal, he added.
