Flood suspends pedestrian crossing at Torkham

Last evening a heavy flash flood damaged equipment in the pedestrian terminal that suspended exit and entry of passengers at Torkham border, official and locals informed on Friday.
The Immigration official in Torkham said that the previous day heavy downpour flooded the newly established pedestrian terminal that brought to halt all exit and entry process.
The rain water entered into the pedestrian terminal and damaged equipment in the terminal besides suspended net and power supply in the area .
Efforts had been underway to refunction the process, he added.
Unexpected shutting of the border multiplied miseries of the passengers on the sides of the crossing and hundreds of them were witnessed waiting outside the immigration office and on the border to cross –in or out.
They asked for instant resuming of the immigration process so that they could reach their destinations.
