Speaking on the occasion, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, President FPCCI said that Pakistan will not be able to stand in the list of developed nations until industrialization in Pakistan is not our top priority. Development of industry will help in increase of export curtail imports and generate employment opportunities for our people. Mr. Irfan Iqbal said that whenever we borrowed from the IMF, our GDP growth decreased instead of increasing and also become a reason for the hardship poor of the country.
He further said that the present century is the century of economy and economically strong nations will rule the world. It takes time for SMEs to quickly integrate and align with larger industrial units until proper financing and facilities are not provided to them. President FPCCI suggested that special areas in our SEZs should be allocated for SMEs.
As of today a large number of our population is not afforded opportunities to learn skilled and technical education due to non-availability of technical institutions in the country and it is the right time to set up technical education institutions in the country and motivate the young generation to join technical institution and secure their future and set direction of the country towards progress.
The FPCCI recommended that the government should ensure the provision of special facilities and interest-free loans to promote SMEs in rural areas to curb migration toward the major cities.
Makhdoom Syed Murtaza Mahmood, Federal Minister for Industry and Production said that he is fully agreed with the words of President FPCCI Irfan Iqbal Shaikh and I also have the same thought that industrialization is key to success. It is our mistake not to realize the fact and ignored the reality by not giving the due attention.
