Dr Aafia Siddiqui release case
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while directing to file progress report regarding release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui has adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks. The petition in respect of release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui imprisoned in US came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan here Wednesday. Asad Burki legal advisor of foreign office appeared in the court. He proposed to make efforts afresh at diplomatic level with US in connection with release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. The foreign office representative said fresh diplomatic efforts can be made with US on the matter of release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui; Foreign office can take up this issue at diplomatic level. Our attorney general can write a letter to US Attorney General. Foreign office can make efforts at diplomatic level only. The legal front has to be seen by interior ministry. Online
