Prominent religious, political and social figure, former deputy speaker of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly Ikramullah Shahid passed away after prolonged illness.
His funeral prayer was offered at Sher Shah Town Kass Koroona on Tuesday night at 10pm. large numbers of people belonging to different walk of life attended his funeral prayer. Ikramullah Shahid was born on June 12, 1949 in a religious family of Kaskoroona.
His father, the late Maulana Madarullah Madarar, actively participated in Tehreek-e-Pakistan and was among the important leaders of Tehreek-e-Azadi.
Ikramullah Shahid received his MA in Pakistan Studies from University of Peshawar, LLB from Karachi University and MPhil in Iqbaliyat from Allama Iqbal Open University. He was a PhD scholar of Allama Iqbal open university.
He also continued his research, writing and compilation along with a rich political life and politics. He was a researcher and writer and author of several books on various topics including Tehreek-e- Pakistan.
He also remained chairman of tehsil municipal administration (TMA). He was also a senior member of district bar association (DBA) Mardan.
He was father of the secretary of Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Professor Engineer Jawad Ahmad of King Fahd University Saudi Arabia and Iftikhar Ahmad Farooq. He was the brother of Kaleemullah Amjad, former president of Mardan chamber of commerce and industry (MCCI).
He was cousin of Lutfullah Lutaf, former president of Mardan Press Club and uncle of Shahid Bacha area manager Habib Bank. His qul would be held at Gulberg Town (Kas Korona) Mardan on Friday.
