Four bike lifters held; six bikes recovered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Ramna police have arrested four bike lifters involved in numerous bike lifting incidents, a police spokesman said. He said that, IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas had categorically ordered all zonal officers to curb the crime in their respective areas and arrest those involved in looting innocent people. Following the orders, a police team of Ramna olice station headed by SHO Ramna Akhtar Zaman along with other officials apprehended a notorious bike lifters gang known as Sanwal gang. The accused of the gang were identified as Sanwal Amjad, Zakria Kashif, Mubashir Ali and Zeeshan. Police team also recovered six stolen bikes from their possession. Further investigation is underway. IGP Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas and SSP Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran have appreciated the police team performance. IGP Islamabad further directed all zonal officers to intensify the crackdown against the criminals. “The officers with good performance will be rewarded while the officers showing laxity towards their official duties will be dealt with iron hands” he maintained.
