mortar shell hits market
PESHAWAR
At least four people were killed and 12 others injured after a mortar shell struck a market near a petrol pump in the Dorri Banda area of Hangu on Thursday, police said. According to police, the mortar shell landed in market during an exchange of fire in the area. The explosion caused panic among residents and further heightened tensions in the region. DSP Amjad Hussain said the injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals where they are receiving medical treatment. Two of the serious injured were later shifted to Peshawar.
He added that police and security forces are continuing an operation against militants, while security has been tightened across the area.
Meanwhile, clashes between militants and police were also reported in Zargari area.,
