One terrorist killed, 2 injured; state of emergency imposed in Zhob Civil Hospital; CM Bizenjo condemns attack
QUETTA
An Frontier Constabulary checkpost was attacked by terrorists in the Dhana Sar area of Shirani district in Balochistan.
Reportedly, one FC and three police personnel have been martyred in the attack, as per security officials.
The martyred officials have been identified as station house officer Bahadur Khan, Babar, sepoy Afzal Shirani and Baz Khan Harifal. One terrorist was also killed in an exchange of fire, they said further.
The officials said an exchange of fire between the security forces and terrorists is going on.
According to the Shirani deputy commissioner, the attack took place at the joint checkpost of the police, Levies and FC forces early in the morning. A search operation in the area is underway.
The Balochistan chief minister’s spokesperson, Babar Yousufzai, has condemned the Shirani terrorist attack.
The terrorists want to destroy the law and order situation with this cowardly attack, he remarked. He said no concession will be offered to the terrorists, adding the entire nation is proud of the sacrifices rendered by the security forces.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Qudus Bizenjo condemned the attack, saying terrorists couldn’t demoralise security forces with cowardly acts.
He said security forces were ensuring the security of the country and the nation with firm determination and courage.
Condemning the attack, the Balochistan governor, chief minister and home minister maintained that the blood of the martyrs will not go in vain.
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned the terrorist attack. He offered condolences to the bereaved families of the martyred security officials. “Cowardly terrorists cannot discourage us and our soldiers with such attacks,” he stressed.
He said he saluted all the martyrs of the country, including those of the Shirani checkpost.
