NOWSHERA: A fraudster pretending as journalist involved in rape attempt and threatening a woman was held by citizens and handed over to police after sound thrash here on Sunday. According to details, accused Farhat Shah s/o Khaista Gul pretending as reporter of a local newspaper barged into a house in Jehangira area of Akora Khattak Nowshera and attempted to rape Asima w/o Mehraj Gul when she was all alone at house. The lady hue and cry and called for help after which the neighbourers gathered at the scene and held the accused. The culprit threatened the woman and others of dire consequences saying that he was journalist and attached with a local newspaper. However, the citizens held the culprit and handed him over to police after sound thrash. The police after registering a case against the detainee started an investigation. INP
