Acting District Education Officer, Imtiaz Khan inaugurated distribution of free textbooks in Mardan. DSO and Focal Person Free Book, Education Council Mardan Chairman Hafiz Zubair Ahmad, APCA Mardan Chairman Haji Muhammad Ibrahim and APCA President Afridi Khan were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the Chief Guest hailed the start of distribution of free textbooks and appreciated the efforts of the Education Department and the Text Book Board, DMO, EMA and Mardan FTB Focal Person Haji Noor Rahman.
Delivery of textbooks in the hands of children will be ensured. Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Education Council Mardan, Hafiz Zubair Ahmad assured that the Education Council will stand side by side with the Department of Education in relation to the free textbooks and admission campaign and will deliver books to every child and enroll every child out of school. He strongly demanded the authorities of the Textbook Board to immediately ensure the delivery of the remaining two-thirds of free textbooks so that no child remains without a book by the end of April.
Textbook Board has to fulfill the target of supply of 21 lakh 92 thousand 59 textbooks to the students of boys schools of district Mardan in any case, while fulfilling the target of textbooks for the students of girls schools is not included in this. This time, the government has devised a mechanism to distribute free textbooks above a certain rate, according to which 100 percent from KG to Class 3, 80 percent to Class 4 and 5, and 50 percent to students from Class 6 to 12.
Textbooks will be given, the remaining part will be met by taking old books from the children. In this matter, it was demanded that the three textbooks which have been changed in class 6, 7 and 8 should be ensured 100% delivery of these books because it is New books will be replaced by old books.
