FSA launches operations in KP against Tikka shops

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority launched operations in Peshawar, Swat, Mardan and Charsadda against substandard Tikka shops at various places.
Action against substandard tikka shops at various places of Peshawar including Ashraf Road, Qissa Khawani, one unit sealed, while imposing heavy fines on three shops, an official of the Food Safety Authority, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said.
The hygiene situation in Tikka shops was found to be poor, while tartaric acid was being used to soften the meat, Food Safety Authority officials said.
Three ice cream units were sealed in Kabal, Babuzai Swat for violating hygiene norms, Food Safety Authority officials said.
Food Safety Authority SOPs were being violated in units and Bakery Unit raided in Mardan with more than 3000 thousand dirty eggs recovered, the official of the Food Safety Authority, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dirty eggs were being used in various bakery products and the official of the Food Safety Authority sealed the unit besides raiding the Kebab Shop and sealed it on use of unhealthy oil and poor hygiene in Sardheri Bazaar. The Food Safety Authority official said that the Bakery Unit in Charsadda was sealed for use of unhealthy colors and poor hygiene.
