PESHAWAR
The funeral prayer for Sub-Inspector Laiq Zada Khan and Constable Alamzeb, who were martyred in a suicide bombing in Peshawar last night, were offered with full state honors at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines here Monday.
A smartly turned-out police contingent presented salute to the coffins. The funeral ceremony was attended by Member of National Assembly (MNA) Arbab Sher Ali, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Mehsud, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Qasim Ali Khan, Additional IG CTD Shaukat Abbas, SSP Operations Masood Ahmed, SSP Investigation Noor Jamal, CTD officials, divisional SPs, and senior police officers, along with the family members of the martyrs.
MNA Arbab Sher Ali, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, IG Police Zulfiqar Hameed, and Commissioner Riaz Mehsud laid floral wreaths on the coffins and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks in the hereafter.
Offering condolences to the bereaved families, the Chief Secretary and IG Police paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the martyred cops.
IG Zulfiqar Hameed assured the families that the blood of the martyrs would not go in vain and perpetrators involved in this heinous act will face consequences.
