Jubilant tribesmen took out a thanksgiving rally in Landi Kotal on Monday to express solidarity with the armed forces and to celebrate the country’s victory over India.
Large number of tribal elders, political elites, traders, students and members of civil society while waving the national flags conducted the procession from Charwazgai Chawk till Peshawar gate of the forces cantonment.
Assistant Commissioner ,Landi Kotal Adnan Mumtaz,Tehsil Municipal Officer Shahbaz Khan, Station House Officer, police station, Landi Kotal Adnan Afridi also participated in the rally.
Some of the participants were dancing to the drumbeats in jubilation.
Speaking on the occasion Tehsil Chairman Haji Shah Khalid,Malik Khalid Afridi,Malik Masel Khan, All Torkham Clearing Agents Association, President Mujeeb Shiwari, head of Anjuman-e-Tajran Landi Kotal Bazaar Yad Wazir and others paid tribute to the armed forces for the decisive response to Indian aggression, bringing pride to the nation.
They maintained that the armed forces had inflicted a crushing defeat on Indian forces and in future it would not dare to attack Pakistan.
The participants expressed joy over Pakistan’s befitting response to Indian’s aggression and reaffirmed their firm support for the Pakistan Army.
The whole nation stands united with its military and will always support it against any external threats, they opined.
At the end they engarland the forces personnel and offered prayers for prosperity and solidarity of the country.
