The newly elected office-bearers of the Mardan Press Club on Wednesday took oath of their offices. Chief minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur administered the oath to the newly elected cabinet members at a ceremony held here.
The oath taking ceremony was held at commissioner office Mardan. Muhammad Riaz Mayar was sworn in as president, Hidayat-ur-Rehman Hoti vice president, Parveez Khan General Secretary, Amir Shoaib joint secretary and Parveez Shaheen as finance secretary.
Addressing at this occasion president press club Muhammad Riaz Mayar highlighted the problems and issues of Mardan press club. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur congratulating the press club cabinet.
He said that freedom of the press is the foundation of democracy and providing all possible facilities to journalists is the top priority of the government. He assured practical steps to resolve the Media Colony issue and Press Club grant and other issues and said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will fully support positive and independent journalism. Provincial Minister for Food Zahir Shah Toru, Advisor on Health Ihtasham Ali Advocate, Advisor on Technical Education Tufail Anjum, MPA Iftikhar Ali Mashwani, MPA Abdul Salam Afridi, MPA Zarshad Anjum, Abdul Karim Khan Tordhier, Provincial Minister for Irrigation Aqibullah, Information Secretary of PTI Peshawar Region Engineer Adil Nawaz and members of the Press Club were present.
The chief minister early inaugurated several projects during his visit to Mardan including laying the foundation stone for the up gradation of the Sports Complex which will cost Rs 363.4 million, inaugurated a 200-bed Women and Children Hospital at Benazir Children’s Hospital, and also inaugurated the projects of Swabi Kandal Dam at the Commissioner Mardan’s office. Later, the Chief Minister was briefed about the ongoing development works in Swabi and Mardan at the Commissioner’s office.
Talking to the media, the Chief Minister said that change in the lease policy has become inevitable. A committee consisting of local people will be formed for the policy related to minerals, the authority will not be given to a few people. He added that those who spread lies and propaganda are prisoners of their own interests.
The province is not getting the full right to tax on minerals. The federation should give us the constitutional right in installments, but definitely. He added that differences are everywhere, the strongest relationship is that of husband and wife. The most disputes occur in this relationship. He argued that differences are the beauty of democracy.
He argued that the founder of PTI has been illegally imprisoned. We fought a fierce battle for the release of Imran Khan. “I am satisfied with my efforts and Imran Khan is also satisfied that big progress is expected very soon”he added. The chief minister spent a busy day at Mardan.
