PESHAWAR
Shah Pur Police here on Sunday claimed to have arrested two members of a gang allegedly involved in producing fake arms licenses during a major crackdown on forgery.
According to police, the operation was carried out on the special directives of senior officials under the supervision of the DSP Chamkani Circle. The SHO of Shah Pur Police Station, along with a police team conducted the raid as part of ongoing efforts against criminal elements.
The arrested suspects were identified as Danish, son of Gul Madar and Zeeshan, son of Umar Dara, residents of Asad Abad Idrima.
During the raid at Danish’s residence in Syed Abad, police recovered a computer system, printer, laptop, hundreds of printed and blank arms license cards, a rifle, two pistols and other equipment allegedly used to prepare forged licenses.
In a separate operation, police also arrested a drug dealer, Ehsanullah, son of Hameedullah and seized 311 grams of crystal meth (Ice) from his possession, with an estimated street value of thousands of Pakistani rupees.
Police said cases have been registered against the suspects on charges of forgery, fraud and drug-related offences, while further investigations are underway.
