Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, has successfully concluded its historic Computer-Based Centralized Admission Test (KMU-CAT 2026) for admissions to undergraduate programs, including Pharm-D, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), BS Nursing, BS Allied Health Sciences, Public Health, and other undergraduate disciplines. Conducted over two consecutive days (July 25–26, 2026), the examination marked the successful completion of KMU’s first-ever fully computer-based, paperless admission test, replacing the conventional paper-based system and setting a new benchmark for transparent, merit-based, efficient, and technology-driven admissions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A total of 18,165 candidates registered for KMU-CAT 2026, while over 18000 candidates appeared during the two-day examination conducted at 23 fully air-conditioned computer-based examination centres established across Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Hazara, Swabi, Kohat, Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, Buner, Chitral, Upper Dir, Parachinar, and Islamabad. Candidates received their results immediately after completing the test through KMU’s computerized assessment system.
The examination was conducted under stringent security arrangements and comprehensive monitoring. Candidates underwent biometric verification, identity and document scrutiny, and security screening before entering the examination halls. All centres were equipped with modern computer systems, uninterrupted internet connectivity, CCTV surveillance, backup power facilities, and dedicated technical support teams to ensure the smooth, transparent, and uninterrupted conduct of the examination.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Haq, SI (Sitara-i-Imtiaz), congratulated the successful completion of KMU-CAT 2026 and appreciated the commitment of the examination, IT, admissions, administrative, and security teams. He stated that the successful implementation of the University’s first-ever computer-based admission test reflects KMU’s unwavering commitment to merit, transparency, quality, and digital innovation while aligning its admission system with internationally recognized standards.
Registrar Mr. Inam Ullah Khan Wazir visited various examination centres during the two-day test to review the arrangements and monitor the examination process. He expressed satisfaction with the transparent, well-organized, and efficient conduct of the test and commended the coordinated efforts of the examination, IT, administrative, and security teams for providing candidates with a secure, comfortable, and hassle-free testing environment.
The university administration thanked all candidates, parents, law enforcement agencies, district administrations, examination staff, and technical teams for their cooperation and support in ensuring the successful and peaceful completion of KMU-CAT 2026.
