Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang involved in street crimes and arrested its four members.
SHO Shaheed Gulfat Hussain Ashfaq Khan told journalists that the gang was involved in a number of street crimes including mobile snatching and robberies in the narrow and dark streets of the inner-city.
He said that eight snatched mobiles and arms utilized in various crimes were also recovered from their possession.
The arrested suspects have been identfied as Saddam, Kashmir, Muhammad Zarshad, and Saifur Rehman.
The police of the above-mentioned police station busted the gang after a comprehensive investigation on the complaint of a citizen who was robbed in a street.
The accused are residents of different areas of Peshawar who are involved in street crimes in areas including Hashtnagri, Gulbahar, GT Road and other adjacent areas.
The arrested suspects have confessed to several incidents during the preliminary investigation and revealed that they smuggled stolen mobile phones to the neighboring country of Afghanistan.
