PESHAWAR: Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang involved in street snatching, car lifting and robberies and five its members were arrested. The arrested individuals have been identified as Naeem alias Muna, Noman, Aziz, Masil, and Abid. Police said all of them were the residents of provincial capital. The arrest was made by the Faqirabad Circle Police, under the supervision of DSP Umar Afridi, and in a joint operation led by SHO Pahari Pura Ali Adarsh and SHO Faqirabad Bilal Hussain. During the operation, police recovered a substantial amount of stolen valurables from the accused, which includes Rs 212,000 in cash, two and a half tolas of gold ornaments, seven stolen motorcycles, 33 valuable mobile phones, and two rickshaws. In a special ceremony, SP Gulbahar Division Muhammad Arshad Khan handed over the recovered items, including motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash, to their rightful owners. DSP Faqirabad Umar Afridi was also present at the event. According to police sources, further important and potentially sensational revelations were expected during the course of the investigation.
