Gang who looted property dealer arrested: SP Faqirabad

The Faqirabad Police on Sunday arrested three persons of a gang involved in robbing a property dealer at gunpoint on Bashirabad road Peshawar.
The accused have been identified as Mursalin, Shafiullah and Imran were members of a gang involved in robberies.
Police said that one of the arrested suspects belongs to the neighboring country of Afghanistan while the other two are residents of Peshawar.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Faqirabad Division Dr Muhammad Umar told reporters that the gang had snatched Rs2.5 million from a property dealer was arrested within 24 hours.
He said that after the incident, a special team consisting of Faqirabad police station and Paharipura police station under the leadership of ASP Faqirabad Syed Talal Ahmed Shah was formed to apprehend the criminals involved in the robbery.
The special team started a comprehensive investigation on modern scientific lines by working day and night with the help of CCTV footage, geo-tagging, mobile data and the gang was finally tracked down by investigating several criminals.
Dr Muhammad Umar furthered that on the identification of the arrested accused, the money taken from their possession and the weapon used in the incident were also recovered
The arrested suspects have admitted their involvement in the incident during the initial investigation.
Police said that important and sensational revelations are expected from the arrested accused during the investigation.
It is important to note that a special crackdown has been launched on criminals by the SP City and SP Faqirabad.
A number of snap checking and operations during the month have curtailed the overall criminal cases in the city. A strict check and balance strategy has bee devised against the motorbikes in the area.
