Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) vice president Sherry Rehman predicted Friday that gas turmoil would continue till next summers due to incompetency and negligence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
“Gas was purchased at record high prices” Sherri said in a statement, adding that “provision of gas to domestic and commercial users was delayed several times because agreements were made with defaulting companies”
Sherri Rehman said that such delays increased country’s circular debts by 50 billion rupees. “The circular debt of gas industry has reached 1200 billion rupees due to incorrect policies of government” she added.
PPP vice president said that foreign companies were denying providing gas to Pakistan, which would devastate industry and domestic users.
