Elections scheduled for next month in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) have been postponed with the majority opinion of political parties.
While addressing All Parties Conference (APC) about election schedule, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) GB Raja Shahbaz Khan said as per majority opinion of political parties it is impossible to hold election in in-conducive weather situation. 13 political parties demanded to postpone the election while 6 political parties advised to hold election as per existing schedule.
Election commission had issued schedule for holding election on January 24, 2026.
