Acting Governor Mushtaq Ghani ordered action against Pro-VC of the university

A report of the Governor’s Inspection Team (GIT) has exposed a number of irregularities in appointments and financial matters at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar.
The report, ordered by former Governor KP Shah Farman, was completed by GIT, who presented it to a special meeting of the university syndicate chaired by Acting Governor Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani here on Friday.
The report points out that the Pro Vice Chancellor of the SBBWU committed several irregularities in appointments at the university and violated rules regulations set for appointments of teaching and non-teaching staff at public sector universities.
The chairman governor inspection team Ahmed Hasan informed the syndicate meeting about the recommendations of the GIT report, said handout issued by Governor House Peshawar.
The meeting was informed in the light of the report that the pro-VC of the university made several appointments against the rules and regulations.
In the Senate meeting, it was unanimously decided to send the inquiry report of the Governor Inspection.
The Acting Governor Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has directed the syndicate to look into the inquiry report findings and recommendation and take action against the pro VC of the university.
The syndicate SBBWU has been directed to take action in the light of Model Statutes of the University and the University Act and submit its report to the Senate within 30 days.
GIT chairman Ahmed Hasan, Special Secretary Higher Education Department Rashid Paindakhil, Acting Principal Secretary to Governor Saiful Islam, Finance Department, Establishment Department, Higher Education Commission representatives including Vice Chancellor Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University and other members of Senate were present.
