On the special instructions of Chairman Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), Pakistan, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, MWM has intensified relief activities in the flood-affected areas across the country.
Foodstuffs, medical equipment and prepared food are being dispatched on a daily basis to the victims in various parts of the country, including South Punjab and Balochistan.
MWM Secretary General Syed Nasir Shirazi along with his team is on a visit to the affected areas of Dera Ghazi Khan and is monitoring the steps taken by MWM to solve the problems of the victims. Camps have also been set up in different cities to help the victims.
The central leadership of MWM has announced the suspension of all political activities in view of the current situation and appealed to the nation not to leave the helpless families alone in this difficult time.
He said that at present the country is facing an emergency situation. Political and religious parties and institutions have to focus all their attention on the rehabilitation of the flood victims. This is the time to forget the quarrels and become one nation.
He said that all the provincial and district officials and women wings of MWM should be present in the field to help the affected families.
